I'm going on a trip and I'm going to bring...

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

Here are things that I found helpful when traveling with a dog:

  • Collapsable Water Dish

  • Camel pack with water

  • Gallon of water each day (even if you don't use it all)

  • Dog stake to stick in the ground to tie her up

  • dog first aid kit

  • cooling vest (for summer months)

  • booties (for snow/ice)

  • jacket (winter months)

  • Waist Leash

  • Fanny Pack

  • 1 dish for food/water

  • no more than 1 bag of dog food no matter how long your trip (you can always buy more while traveling)

  • Always carry water and treats with you on hikes

  • Dog bed that your dog feels comfortable in (this will make them feel like "home" when traveling).

  • Harness with poop bags already in them

  • Plug in cooler for the car/campsite

  • Dog bones/toys (limit to a few of his/her favorites)

  • Towel

  • Tweezers and rubbing alcohol (in case you have to take out ticks)

  • 15 ft cable leash (any more than that and he/she will be able to roam too far)

  • 2 leashes (in case you lose one)

  • Seatbelt for the car

  • collapsable crate (if crate trained, prefers crate to a bed, or travel in car in the crate)

  • Foldable mat for the ground if camping

ree

Okay, I said bring the dog bed, I didn't say that they'd always SLEEP in the bed.
